Archimedes principle states that a body immersed in
fluid is buoyed by a force equal to the weight of
the displaced fluid.
From this principle we can find that whether an
object floats or sinks. If the weight of fluid
displaced is less than the weight of the object, it
will sink otherwise it will float and displaces the
same magnitude of weight of fluid as that of its
weight.
The weight of the fluid displaced, W = mg
