Impulse:

The impulse is a product of force and time.

If a force ‘F’ acts on a body for time‘t’ then impulse = F x t

As force is the rate of change of linear momentum, therefore

or F x t = m (v₂-v₁)

i.e. Impulse = Change of linear momentum
