1 June World Milk Day This international day established by the Food and Agricultural Organisation of United Nation to recognise the importance of milk as a global food.

The day was observed since 2001.

 

1 June Global Day of Parents The day was designated by the General Assembly in 2012. The day is celebrated on 1st June every year to honour all the parents for their sacrifice, commitment and selfish less throughout the world. The day was observed since 1980’s.

 

2 June International Sex workers Day/ International Whores Day The day is observed annually on 2nd June each year to honour sex workers and recognises their often exploited working conditions.

 

3 June World Bicycle Day In 2018, the United Nations General Assembly declared June 3rd as International Bicycle Day. The day recognises the uniqueness, longevity and versatility of the bicycle which is a simple, affordable, reliable, clean and environmentally fit sustainable means of transport.

 

4 June International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression The day is globally organised on 4th June. The day is celebrated to acknowledge the pain suffered by children throughout the planet who are the victims of physical, mental and emotional abuse.

The day was established on 19th August 1982 and it originally focused on victims of the 1982 Lebanon Wars.

5 June World Environment Day The day is observed annually to rise the awareness abut protecting the environment and t remind people not to take nature for granted.

7 June World Food Safety Day The aim of the day is to raise awareness about different food borne risk and to measure of how to prevent it. The first day was adopted by United Nations General Assembly in December 2018.

The day is established in collaboration of WHO with FAO.

6 June UN Russian Language Day The day was established by UNESCO in 2010. The day is coincides with the birthday of Aleksandr Pushkin a Russian poet and also a father of modern Russian language.
6 June World Pest Day The main purpose of the day is to increase public, government and media awareness of the important role pest management organization plays in protecting health.

The first day was observed in 2017 which was first initiated by Chinese pest control association and co sponsored by FAOPMA, NPMA, and CEPA.

8 June World Brain Tumour Day The day is to raise international public attention to the people who are suffering from this serious disease.
8 June World Ocean Day The day is observed to raise global awareness about the importance of the ocean and ways to protects it.

 

12 June World Day Against Child Labour The day is celebrated globally who are engaged in child labour and hazardous work.
13 June International Albinism Awareness Day

 

The day is celebrated to celebrate the human rights of persons with Albinism world wide.
13 June World Blood Donor Day The aim of the day is to raise global awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products for transfusion.
15 June World Elder Abuse Awareness Day The day is celebrated to raise a voice for the elderly who are abused and victimized.

The day was officially recognised by United Nations General Assembly in December 2011. By passing resolution 66/127 of UN following a request from INPEA.

15 June Global Wind Day The day was observed to spread the awareness about wind energy and its importance and various uses.

The Day was first observed in 2007. It was renamed in 2009. The day was organised by Wind Europe and Global Wind Energy Council.

16 June International Day of Family Remittances The day was adopted by United Nations General Assembly.

The day is for those migrant people who send money home for their family members.

The first day was celebrated on 16 June 2015.

16 June Martyrdom of Guru Arjan Dev The Mughal Emperor Jahangir ordered to be tortured and sentenced to death to the 5th Sikh Guru Ajan Dev on 16 June 1606. The day was commemorate by Sikhs as Martydom of Guru Arjan Dev.
17 June World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought The day is celebrated to aware f the presence of desertification and drought and method of preventing desertification.

The United Nations General Assembly declared 1994 as World day to Combat Desertification and Drought.

18 June Sustainable Gastronomy Day The day is to focus the attention of the world on the role that sustainable gastronomy plays in our life.

The day was first designated by United General Assembly on 21st December 2016.

18 June Autistic Pride Day The day is to create awareness about autism among people.

The day is represented by a rainbow infinity symbol ∞

The day was first celebrated in Brazil in 2005.

18 June International Picnic Day The day is to enjoy in nature, with your near and dear ones.
19 June World Sickle Cell awareness Day The day held annually since 2008 to raise awareness about sickle cell disease.

The day is officially adopted by United Nations General Assembly.

19 June National Reading Day The CBSE celebrates the National Reading Day annually on 19 June.

The day is celebrated to honour the father of Library Movement in Kerala, Late P. N. Panicker on his death anniversary.

From 19 June to 19 July, the entire month will be observed as Reading Month.

The first reading day was held in 1996.

In 2017, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the 22nd National Reading Month with message Read and Grow. Among all the citizens of the country by 2022.

The day was founded by France’s Minister of Culture Jack Lang and a French composer music journalist, radio producer and festive organiser Maurice Fleuret on day of the summer solstice in Paris 1982.

25 June World Vitiligo Day The day is observed to build global awareness about vitiligo. It is a skin disorder leading to loss of colour in the skin.

The first day was observed on 25th June 2011.

26 June International Day in support of Victims of Torture The day is observed by United Nations to raise the awareness among people about human torture That is a crime and unacceptable.

The resolution 52/149 was passed by United Nations general Assembly and decided to watch the day as International day in support of victims of torture.

The primary international day in support of victims of torture was held.

26 June International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking The day is United Nations International Day against Drug abuse and Illegal drug trade. It is observed annually on 26 June since 1989 to commemorate Lin Zexu’s dismantling of opium trade in Humen, Guangdong ending on 25th June 1839 just before first opium war in China. The General assembly passed resolution 42/112 December 1987 for the day.
27 June Micro- Small and Medium sized Enterprises Day The Day is observed since 2017 to celebrate the work of MSME in local and global economies and their contribution.

The MSME is the backbone of our economy.

The day is to create awareness among youth about the role of statistics in socio-economic planning and policy formulation.

The day acknowledge the formation of inter parliamentary Union, the global organisation of parliaments that was established in 1889.

3rd Sunday of June World Father’s Day  The third Sunday of June to commemorate fatherhood and appreciate all fathers for their role, support and contributions to society.
