Largest continent – Asia

Asia is the largest country in eastern and northern hemispheres with an area of 44,579,000 square km. about 30% of earth’s total landmass.

Largest delta – Sundarban or Ganges delta (Bangladesh)

This is a mangrove area of the Ganges, Brahmaputra and Meghna Rivers. It is on Hooghly river in Indian state of west Bengal to Baleswar River in Bangladesh and it is also listed for UNESCO heritage site. 

Largest hot desert – Sahara Desert (Africa)

This is the largest hot desert with a surface area of 9.2 million square km. It is the largest hot desert in world and third largest desert after Antarctica and Arctic. It covers an area of Algeria, Chad, Egypt, Libya, Mali, Mauritius, Morocco, Niger, Sudan, and Tunisia.

This island is located between Arctic and Atlantic Ocean and east of Canadian Arctic Archipelago. This island lies mostly in Northern Hemisphere.

This bird is also known as Diomedea exulans. The bird is from the family of Diomedeidae. This is the biggest flying sea bird in world and can go for years without touching land. These are mostly found across the southern ocean include Antarctic, sub-Antarctic and subtropical waters

Longest Railway Bridge – Danyang Kunshan grand bridge (Beijing, China)

It is 164,851 kilo meter long on the Beijing- shanghai high speed railway in Suzhou China. Its width is 79 meter at a height of 30 meter. It is designed by china road and bridge corporation (CRBC). It’s construction started in 2006 and ends in 2010and got opened on 30 June 2011.

Longest Day – 21 June (Northern hemisphere)

Summer solstice falls on 21 June every year summer solstice is also known as estival solstice or midsummer it occurs when earth’s poles has its maximum tilts towards the sun.

Longest Epic –The Mahabharata (India)

This is described as “The longest poem ever written”. The author of this epic is attributed to Vyasa. It consists of 100,000 sloka and two hundred thousand individual lines and 1.8 million words.

Longest Mountain Range- Andes Mountain (South America western side)

This is the highest mountain range outside Asia. It is also known by the Andes or Spanish Cordillera de los Andes.  The range of this mountain is 7000 km long and 200-700km wide. It crosses through Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia.
