The Solar System

General Knowledge

The solar system consists of a sun and all the objects those are revolving around it. The objects revolving around it includes

  1. 8 planets (Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune) along with their satellites (moons) that travel around planets.
  2. Asteroids which are planet like objects.
  3. Chunks of iron and stone called meteoroids.
  4. Bodies made of dust and foreign gases known as Comets.
  5. Drifting particles called interplanetary dust and electrically charged gas called plasma.

The sun contains 99.85% of all the matter of the solar system.
